Biography

Reuben Mourad is one of television’s most versatile young personalities, with a proven background in live media - be it on screen, behind a microphone or hosting international events.

Reuben’s natural charisma and gravitas have taken him to all corners of Australian broadcast media – from entertainment, news, sports and weather to live radio and events. Reuben’s media career was sparked by his love of music which he parlayed into a radio host and DJ position with the Australian Radio Network in the Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide markets. From here, he completed his post graduate studies with the Australian Film, Television and Radio School and moved into the world of television.

A former national anchor and weather presenter on Australia’s Foxtel television network, Reuben has covered a diverse range of stories. Whether the tragedy of the 2009 Victorian Bushfires, the Brisbane floods or the all-important weekend surf conditions, he has covered all things weather-related. He has also been featured as a guest and panelist on national TV shows covering pop culture and international issues, as well as being the host of major live network events. 

When he's not in front of the camera, Reuben has presented at some of the most exciting live events on the world sporting stage – the Commonwealth Games, the FINA World Swimming Championships, World Cup Qualifiers and the Australian Hyundai A League, to name a few. His sporting knowledge has allowed him to cover and commentate on a variety of sports including basketball, water polo, gymnastics and even wheelchair rugby.

On camera, Reuben has traveled around the world covering everything from the craziest world record attempts to the latest fashion trends, and from interviewing Olympic athletes to surfing in the South Pacific. He has also been a part of Australia’s national evening news teams presenting the latest weather forecasts and bringing live up-to-date reports.

As a travel expert, his suitcase is always packed, and his passport is always in his pocket. Reuben has worked with countless tourism bodies around the world uncovering the latest vacation trends, hottest locations and newest hotels. He's worked in a plethora of international cities, sourcing the best places off the beaten path for travellers to check out, all of which he hosted and produced for Expedia Australia and New Zealand. His position in the lifestyle television genre has sent him to all corners of the globe, from exploring the ancient Mayan ruins to swimming with the Australian sea lions, and from rocking out in Texas to dogsledding through the Alaskan snow. As a food critic, he's covered the finest of dining, along with the latest craziest food trends and obsessions around the world.

You haven't just seen Reuben Mourad - you've more than likely heard his voice too. Reuben is an accomplished voiceover artist, voicing campaigns for clients, including MetLink Melbourne, the RTA, and recently the voice of the Australian Subscription Television and Radio Association (ASTRA) Awards and the Inside Film (IF) Awards.  Additionally, he regularly voices major events for the Australian Government. Reuben is a regular guest on radio stations throughout Australia, commenting on an arrayof topics. He has interviewed the biggest names in media – from supermodels to  politicians and gold medal Olympians to chart-topping musicians. Reuben is also the on-air host for Smooth FM in Sydney and Melbourne, one of Australia's most popular radio networks.

Reuben is proud to be a long-term ambassador for the Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children - an Australian charitable organization.  He is also honored to be an Australia Day Ambassador, delivering the annual Australia Day address.
